My passion for travel was kindled at 11 years old when I took my first solo flight to French Guiana. In 2019, while speaking at an iOS conference in Singapore, I took the opportunity to extend my trip to meet my best friend in Cambodia. This was not just a simple reunion; her boyfriend was working for an NGO there, enriching our experience with deeper insights into the local culture and the significant contributions of their work. From the vibrant streets of Phnom-Penh to the serene countryside, I was deeply moved by the kindness of the people and the beauty of the landscapes. This trip reinforced my passion for travel, emphasizing the power of personal connections and the profound experiences that come with exploring new places with friends. This visit not only allowed me to reconnect with a dear friend but also opened my eyes to the impactful efforts of community support and development, leaving an indelible mark on my heart and shaping my understanding of the transformative power of travel.

Tired of the recurring dilemma of what to pack for diverse travel scenarios, I envisioned a solution that could simplify this process for travelers. Leveraging the capabilities of AI, particularly through OpenAI’s powerful frameworks, I developed an initial model capable of intelligently suggesting packing items based on destination, weather conditions, and planned activities. This idea took on a personal significance following an incident during a trip to San Francisco. While visiting in town for my first Apple's WWDC, I realized I had forgotten crucial camera equipment. The situation quickly escalated when I was misled into purchasing an overpriced lens by a persuasive salesperson—a costly mistake that would have been avoided had I packed correctly. This experience underscored the need for a meticulously curated packing list, which led to the creation of specialized lists within Voyage Valet. These lists ensure that travelers can avoid common pitfalls and overpricing in tourist-heavy locations by being fully prepared with all necessary items. Recognizing the broader potential of this tool, I refined the technology to create Voyage Valet—a user-friendly app designed to make travel preparation effortless and personalized. Through this AI-driven approach, Voyage Valet not only anticipates the needs of travelers but also adapts in real-time, ensuring users are always prepared, no matter where their journeys might take them.

Development and Refinement
